  • Isaac is an incredible voice within the adoption community. His story is one of resilience and he has found the most graceful and eloquent way of transforming his own pain into meaningful conversations for change in the transracial adoption community. I simply enjoy hearing Isaac speak. His story is honest, bold, raw, and disruptive. Each time that I have attended his workshops, I leave emboldened to really hold the line in keeping families honest and reflective as they consider adopting a child of a different race. As an adoption professional, I respect the charge that Isaac always gives to his listeners to see the adoptee as a whole being, and not just one aspect of who they are. He is a remarkable individual and I look forward to seeing how he continues to elevate this conversation on race and identity in adoption.

  • We had the privilege of having Isaac Etter train our staff over a Zoom call. He is professional, articulate and insightful. He not only shared his powerful story, he provided our staff with excellent resources, advice and suggestions. His honest, heart felt response to each of our questions made our staff feel at ease and his training highly effective. I have already recommended his services to adoptive parents and other agencies, and look forward to working with him again.

Tameka Caldwell, Family Support Project Coordinator at The Texas Alliance of Children and Families.

  • Isaac Etter was an excellent speaker at our staff workshop on transracial adoption.  He spoke movingly about his own experiences as a transracial adoptee and answered questions with clarity and kindness.  He gracefully engaged in a challenging conversation about the myths and misjudgments around transracial adoption.  Participants were universally moved and impressed by Isaac's openness and thoughtfulness.

Leigh Jackson, Director of Accessibility and EDI Programming at People's Light Theatre

  • I’ve attended workshops put on by Isaac & have had the distinguished honor of having him panel on conversations oriented around teens & identity and can attest he brings a level of compassion, humility, humor, and vulnerability to these spaces that are unmatched. His thoughtful reflections on identity, race, and adoption are both a calling in that challenge and a place of peace for anyone involved in the adoption constellation. His ability to integrate complex and nuanced concepts of adoption, family, and identity into conversational and disarming places of reflection are a gift to the adoption community and will continue to be an asset to generations to come.
